Use " COMPOSITE " make corrossion resitant and light weight Fibre Glass Reinforced Plastic ( FRP ) Grated Flooring and Stairtreads for long life and minimum maintainence.

TECHNICAL NOTE

1. CONSTRUCTION
FRP gratings are manufactured from composite FRP sections produced by the pultrusion technique.
The composition of the product by weight is 70% fibreglass reinforcement and 305 thermosetting polyester resin. By volume, each constituent is present in about equal proportions. The configuration of the grating is as shown in the figure below. Bearing bars are pultruded sections of 25 mm depth width and 8 mm width. The pultruded section ensures efficient material distribution resulting in a high strength to weight ratio. Bearing bars have slip resistance grit bonded to their surface to ensure slip resistance. Transverse members are 8 mm diameter rods of the same composition as the bearing bars. They are passed through the bearing bars and securely boded to them with structural adhesive. FRP gratings are supplied prepigmented, in most colour of the purchaser's choice. Standard colour is GREY.

2. LOAD TABLE - UNIFORMLY DISTRIBUTED LOADS
The table shows the maximum uniformly distributed load, in Kg/M2 which our grating are rated to withstand, to maintain deflections within 10 mm or 1 / 200th of the span whichever is the lesser in accordance with BS 4592. it may be noted that upto about 2 - 3 times these loads may be safely carried if greater deflections are permitted.

Span of Walkman Max. Uniformly distributed load Kg/M2
0.60 6500
0.75 3000
0.90 1750
1.05 800
1.35 400
1.50 350

Maximum clear span for 500 Kg/M2 pedestrian loading 1.25 m.

3. LOADING UNDER CONCENTRATED LOADS:
The graph shown below gives an idea of the ability of our FRP gratings to withstand concentrated loads applied mid - span. As has been explained, a deflection of 10 mm or 1 / 200th of the span, whichever is the lesser, is as per B5 4592. However, as is evident from the graph, if higher deflections are permitted (which is perfectly safe) upon 3 times or more concentrated loading may be accomplished.

4. FASTENING OF GRATINGS TO STEEL WORK
Saddle type clip of SS is used to fasten flooring to steelworks. Saddle clips are applied at either end of the span, between every 6th and 7th loads bearing bar. These clips are also used to hold adjacent panels in place next to one another, with the end bearing bars of each panel at the standards 30 mm distances.

5. TEMPERTAURE WITHSTANDABILITY AND CORROSION RESISTANCE
FRP gratings are made to withstand temperature of upto 75 -n 800 C. Special resin system may be used for higher temperature withstandability.

FRP gratings are inert most chemical environments. Details of chemical environment and prevailing temperature should be furnished with each enquiry.

ADVANTAGES OF FIBRE GLASS PLASTIC GRATINGS / FLOORING

High Specific Strength : Unit strength in tension, flexure and compression is much higher than steel based on unit density.
Weight : Density is 25 % of Steel & 75 % that of Aluminum.
Corrosion Resistance: Unaffected by exposure to water & various corrosive chemicals & environment.
Electric Insulation : High inherent dielectric strength.
Part Consolidation : Many individual components can be combined into one large profile.
Dimensional Stability : Extremely resistance to stretching, warping or swelling over a wide range of temperatures and physical stresses.
Thermal Insulation : It has low thermal conductivity - 1 / 500th of Aluminium and 1 / 100th of steel.
Maintenance Free : Available in custom built colours.
NON - MAGNETIC, MACHINABLE, FATIGUE RESISTANT.
